This week-end we had a double header at Whittemore Speedway and Tri-City Speedway which are both tight 1/4 mile tracks. In hot laps Saturday, the car was slightly pushing on entry, so we made some changes that helped entry a lot, but caused a slight loose condition off the turn. The qualifying run went ok, but we still had to start at the back of the heat and feature since we hadn't completed our 3 race requirement. The heat went by rather quickly since we were turning laps in the 12 second range. I pretty much fell in line at the drop of the green, and stayed with the pack. The pole sitter wasn't handling too well though, and we were able to get past him a few laps in. Unfortunately, I couldn't catch anyone else in the remaining laps. Before the feature, we had a huge autograph session were the fans came on the track to check out the cars and mee the drivers. I must say, it was a blast and great to see fans like that. I also got to do my first interview with the track announcer. Anyway, we started 15th in feature. The car handled really well early, and I was able to pick-up 3 positions on the start. From there, I was trying to run down the next car. I finally got to him and past as the leaders were coming up behind. They all got through safely, and I tried to settle back into my groove. The car had started to pick-up a little push though as I came up on a lapped car. Unfortunately, I couldn't get by him with the car's handling going away, and got passed by 2 cars, coming home in 13th.
