This week-end we went back to Springport, MI for the final time this year trying to change our luck at the Calhoun County Speedway. Things weren't looking too bad through hot laps except for the fact we couldn't get the huge push out of the car coming off the turns. Unfortunately, we didn't have much time to change it for qualifying and were forced to run like that. The car was a little better, but still not great. We made a couple more changes for the heat where we starting on the pole. The car was a lot better and more driveable, and I was able to grab the lead early. Even though it was still pushing a little, we held the lead, not being challenged until the caution came out for a car with engine problems. I got a great restart, but going in to the first turn I heard a clunk and the car became very squirrely. I quickly pulled down to let the field past and figured out the left rear wheel had come loose. I made it back to the pits ok, but the center of the rim was pretty much toast. Luckily, nothing else was damaged. So, we decided to make a couple more changes for the feature. Unfortunately, the changes didn't help the car much, and we still had the push off. We ended up blistering the right front tire it was pushing so bad. BUT, we were able to bring the car home in one piece and finish our first feature of the year which is a victory in itself. We also think we figured out why the car was pushing so bad.
