June 17th, PKA Points Race #2 at Toledo

Results

We were at Toledo for the 2nd PKA points race. We had 16 karts in the class, so there were two groups of heat races again. We started 3rd and finished 3rd in the first heat race, and we started 6th and finished 4th in the 2nd. That put us in 7th starting position for the feature. We were still sitting 7th when an incident occurred right in front of me. The guy I was working on passing clipped the tires on the inside of the track and flipped. On the restart we were 6th. Shortly past half way another incident happened in front of us. We re-started 6th again no thanks to getting passed under caution. So during the remaining laps, I was working on 5th and 4th. Going into the 3rd turn, coming down for the checkers, I was making my pass for 5th when the idiot behind me thought he could squeeze under me in the turn. I ended up the meat in the sandwich. He slammed the left side of my kart hard picking the nose up and sending me straight for the concrete wall at about 80mph. I got it stopped in time though, but crossed the line 9th. Once again, I was extremely pissed and went looking for the guy during the cool down. He had already weaseled his way out of there though. Luckily, all the damage sustained to the kart these past few days has been bodywork, but that stuff ain't cheap either.
