Well, they always say that racing is a very humbling sport, and we found out this week-end. After
posting a solid finish in our last race at Springport, our hopes were high to be able to compete with
the USAC National Series at Toledo and Mansfield. Plus, since these are our only local shows, we
hoped to see some of you at the track. Friday night, we didn't do too bad considering we're going up
against teams with million dollar budgets. We brought the car home in one piece and improved out lap
times by about 1.2 secs from when we first took the track. We were actually fighting an issue with
the throttle most of the night. It acting like it was sticking, so during my qualifying laps, I was
driving with the brake since I had no throttle response at all. We got that fixed by the B-Main
though, and I hung with them for about 3 laps. Then, I made a mistake entering 1 and they just pulled
away. I do have to thank everyone that came out to help and watch though! Especially, my dad, Dick
Ross, Bob Mandeville, and Dave Bolin. It was a LOT easier with you guys in the pits. Also, special
thanks to Rick and Sara Baehr, and Andy Shupe for coming out and cheering us on! It was great to see
amiliar faces at the track, and also to show the Baehr's that some cars do TURN at racetracks! :)
HAHA, anyway, I'm glad you guys came, and I was happy to roll the car in the trailer at the end of the
night.
