Well, our first race of the season didn't go quite as planned, but things could have always been worse. We tried a different set-up for Toledo again this year, but throughout practice and racing, the car still wanted to push the nose pretty bad. Toledo is a track where going fast means you don't let off. Well, there was no way the car was going to turn if I did that. So, we did our best throughout the night to tune the car and we did make improvements. With two laps to go in the heat race, I started to smell something like rubber burning. I also noticed that the oil pressure was fluctuating pretty bad. After taking the checkered flag, there was also a puff a smoke from the engine compartment. When I got back to the pits, there was oil everywhere. We located the biggest source of the leak, and got it fixed up. We decided then that we would not race the entire feature race. We mostly wanted to see if the car would keep oil pressure, and if the leak went totally away. So after 5 green flag laps, I ended up pulling the car in. Unfortunately, the oil leak was less, but still there. During the week, we ended up going through the entire oil system, replaced a couple of fittings, and after starting the car, it appears the leak has been solved.
