Qualified: 21st, 15.70 secs.
Heat: Started-7th, Finished-9th
Friday, there was an open practice at the speedway and we were able to get the car faster all day. All the
adjustments we made seemed to help the car get a little better each time. So on Saturday, we just
made a few adjustments here and there. Unfortunately, they really didn't help the car much, but others
in the pits were fighting the same issues. The whole start of the week-end, I was having problems
entering and getting through the first and second turns. So in qualifying when I absolutely nailed
those turns, I was feeling pretty good. The problem was, I missed my entry into the 3rd turn then,
and ended up losing a lot of time getting through there. My time put us 21st on the time sheets which
put us in 7th starting position for our heat. On the start of the heat, the cars ahead seemed to
really get on the brakes entering 1 and 2. So much so, that on my entry to 3 I drug the brakes a
little too long and the car washed up the track. The cars behind me were then able to get past. The
whole rest of the heat race I was dealing with a driver in front of me that seemed to nearly stop the
car going it, but I didn't have enough power to get around him on the outside or coming off the turn.
Needless to say, it was extremely frustrating since I knew our car was much faster. The 9th place
finish put us in the B-Main since they only took the first 5 cars out of the heats.
