Sandusky Speedway, Sandusky, OH (1/2 mile paved)
B-Main: Started-7th, Finished-9th
Feature: Started-21st, Finished-22nd
The B-Main was the first race run on Sunday, and after a quick practice we were ready to go. The
series announced that they would be taking 9 cars out of the B-Main, so you had to finish 9th to make
it in. At the start of the race, the car felt really good. I was able to move up to 6th and was
racing for 5th. The car was starting to pick-up a push in the 3rd and 4th turns though and I dropped
back to 7th. About 4 laps into the race, the caution flew, and on the restart, two cars were able to
pass me on the high-side going into the first turn. Luckily, I was able to hold the 9th position to
the end though and get into the Feature event. We started 21st out of the 24 cars in the Feature.
The start of the race was much smoother than the heat races and everything sorted out pretty good.
However, on the 2nd lap, I was able to get a good low entry into the third turn, the car on the
outside of me thought was clear and started to come down hitting my right front tire. He ended up
spinning off of my nose and my nose wing was damaged. Unfortunately, he as not able to continue. On
the restart, I could the car was not handling the same due to the nose wing damage. It did not want
to turn very much at all going through the turns. The leaders were able to catch me by about lap 8,
and I pulled it in before hurting the car even more. So, we ended up coming home in the 22nd position.
