Championship night started out promising for us. The car was starting to handle better through the turns since I was getting more comfortable in hot laps. During the qualifying warm-up lap, I heard a pop going down the backstretch, but the car seemed to be handling fine as I took the green. When I mad to 3 and 4, I ended up spinning the car. I got the car corrected and when I went into the 1st turn though, the brakes were very soft. I nursed it down through 3 and 4 and made another lap. On the second green flag lap, I ended up spinning in 3 and 4 again. When I got back to the pits, the LF brake caliper mount had broken and wedged itself between the wheel and brake rotor. We searched everywhere in the pits, but we could not find a replacment. We did not run the heat race, but ended up taking the LF caliper off and capping the brake line to start the feature. I hung back during the start since I only had 3 brake. It ended up being the right decision because a couple cars got together on the start. After the restart, we were able to get a couple of green flag laps in before I pulled off ending our 2015 seasson. It was a bit of a disappointing end, but it was a fun season. Thank you to everyone that helped us throughout the year, my dad, Ryan Schimoeller, Rob Atkinson, Owen Atkinson, Andy Atkinson, and Bob Atkinson. Thanks again and see you in 2016!!
