Sandusky had their first special show of the season Sunday, May 24th, with a $1000 to win the Modified Feature which brought in 23 cars from OH, IN, and MI. Since we're still trying to sort the car out, we decided not to buy new tires yet and run on the 2 week old ones. We had made a couple of changes since last time, but they still weren't the silver bullet because the car was still pushing from the center of the turn off. So for qualifying, we decided to make a big change to the rear springs. They did single car qualifying since it was a special show, and the change definitely made a difference. The car was still tight in the center of the turn, but now I could get it to turn by applying throttle. It was still hard to get just right, but the change we made at least caused a noticeable change in handling. We only made a slight change for the heat, and I ended up spinning coming off the 4th turn since, like I said, it was still hard to control when to get in the throttle, how much, and when to catch the car. We ended up coming home 5th in the heat. However, when I pulled off the track and into the pits, the clutch pedal went to the floor. I had noticed last week it was getting soft, and a little worse each time out on Sunday. After restarting from the spin, it must of been totally shot. With no clutch, I did not want to attempt running the feature, especially with 22 other $1000 hungry drivers out there. We ended up loading up and heading home to try and get a head start on the repairs. It was a good thing too because the results showed only 8 cars finished all 30 laps in the feature. I have to thank my wife, dad, Cousin Rob and his son Owen for coming out and helping us again, even with the short night!! Racing would not be possible without your help. We've been hard at work trying to get the car ready for this Saturday. Right now I'm still not sure we're going to make it. If not, we'll be back in action June 13th at Sandusky!
